We are going to be reading the book, Boris by Cynthia Rylant, in class. The book is about a cat named Boris and the realtionship he has with his owner as well as the adventures of Boris. I would like you all to post a comment about a realtionship you have with a pet or a memory you have with a pet and what it means to you. If you don't have a pet or a memory with a pet, I would like you to discuss what kind of realtionship you think the owner has with Boris or what kind of adventures you think Boris will go on. I love the assignment! It makes for an excellent pre-reading acitivity. Students will drawn into the story by having their background knowledge activated. Too, the use of the blog will motivate students to interact in such a manner that traditional papers do not. Good job!
